Triglav National Park & Lake Bled
Today has been a treat. First, an absolutely breathtaking drive on the 206: a steep and winding mountaing pass taking us into the Triglav National Park. We stopped for brunch with an incredible view, close to the Supca viewpoint, and then progressed on with a few more stops to ogle at vistas that just kept on giving. Coming down the equally dramatic East side, every hairpin bend was cobbled, which for us provided some jiggling and bouncing, while for the cyclists it was much worse (confirmed by our friend Gareth who rode this pass many years ago).

Then, once we descended from the mountain, we made our way to Bled – a lake we’d heard was unmissable, and it did not disappoint. Tired from plenty of walking and running in recent days, we opted to hire a rowing boat which we used to get to a small island that was just big enough for a church and a top-quality ice cream vendor. (Fig and walnut, in case you were wondering). What a beautiful, serene, and dream-like experience this was!
