A saunter in Strasbourg & surrounds
We had a thoroughly enjoyable few hours wandering around Strasbourg today. This was our first significant deviation from the route we had planned. Initially we were going to cross back in to France to visit Nancy, where my father worked for a year in his twenties, however we realised we were trying to squeeze too much in so we switched our Saturday city visit to somewhere that was more on-route. Strasbourg, only just over the border from Germany, not only made sense but looked like it was going to be a stunning place to visit on a lovely sunny day.

And it did not disappoint. We parked the van at a park & ride just outside the ring road and hopped on a tram straight into the old town. We had intended to visit the magnificent Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg but in the end just whiled away several hours just meandering through the beautiful streets of Petit France, taking lots of photos, and sitting down to enjoy the local delicacy, a Tarte Flambée.

Lovely! We did have a nice time there! Nice wondering around petit France, and some tasty food ( a little bit on the massive side!)
